COVID-19 update (22nd Feb 2021)
WE ARE NOT TAKING BOOKINGS WHICH COMMENCE ON OR BEFORE 12th APRIL 2021
You may book to stay after that date, however, due to future guidance we receive from local or national government and health advisers, we may have to cancel your stay. In those cases you would receive a full refund or credit towards another booking with us.
Stay home, keep others safe!
If you do not believe in following all the Covid rules and restrictions, do not book this cottage.
We accept bookings only if all of the guests in the group come from one household not exceeding 4 including infants. Extra visitors or guests are not allowed under any circumstances. You must state at the time of booking how many guests there will be and their names. It will not be possible to add guests later. If you book for two guests then ONLY those two guests may enter the property.
We also ask that guests do not put themselves at risk and therefore those guests which arrive after their departure. Face masks to be worn over nose and mouth at all times outside of both your home and ours. Avoid crowded places and take home all your litter from the beach or other places of interest.
Please register for track and trace - we have our own QR code in the cottage.
We understand that booking a holiday may be a difficult decision for many due to the restrictions of cancellation policies. Please take out a suitable insurance policy before you book. We are offering all new direct bookings (effected by lockdown rules or contracting Covid-19) the flexibility to change their bookings at anytime up to one week before check-in without further charge, or a credit towards a future booking taken within 18 months of cancellation. Our agent's will have their own booking terms.
Our cottage will undergo full sanitization at the end of each stay, however we ask that guests now remove all bedding, towels, bath mats, oven gloves etc and place them in a tied sack at the end of their stay prior to departure. You no longer have to sort the recycling as our waste management company does that for you. So ALL waste now goes into the same dustbin sack, including unused hand soaps, and tied securely. This will help reduce the risk to our staff and next guests.
Thank you!

My sister and I needed somewhere in Penryn to stay for a week whilst sorting out family matters. So, we had not come for sea, sun and sand, but more looking for a comfortable refuge to retreat to at the end of the day. Sorgente couldn't have been better at providing this; in spadefuls. It is the most delightful and tastefully renovated cottage. It retains old world charm with modern day comforts. The cottage was well equipped and everything, including all the linens and towels, were of a very high standard. Both bedrooms are spacious and we had plenty of room to hang clothes, with plenty of drawer spaces too. It also has a superb bathroom with all modern/new fittings. The vast overhead shower was divine. Also all the little goodies which included soaps and bath gels. Of an evening it was very cosy. We only used the CD player, but you could bring your iPod, DVDs as well and of course there is a TV. The free WiFi was a real bonus and made it very easy for us to carry out research and find local services. The communications and ease of booking and all the information provided by the owner was also top notch. The online description of the cottage is perfectly correct and the photography is truly representative of the accommodation. As we were not on a holiday we didn't visit local attractions - but of course one absolute must, if you enjoy good food, is a visit to Ricky Stein's restaurant and take away near the Maritime Museum in Falmouth. The most sumptious dinner was greatly enjoyed and appreciated. We can highly recommend this cottage. Jane & Cherry - March 2016
Natural light
Overall we have tried to let as much natural light into the property, to give a fresh contemporary feel whilst not losing focus on its traditional features, character and charm with its thick stone walls and traditional sliding sash windows (double-glazed).
The spacious open plan living room is equipped with a wood burning stove and leads to the fully equipped kitchen which also serves as the dining area. It is well lit due to the large patio windows which open directly into the sunny enclosed garden... an ideal spot for a morning coffee or to read the papers, but a real sun trap at midday through to the afternoon in midsummer.
Bedrooms and bathroom
Upstairs there are a double and twin bedroom providing a high level of comfort with quality mattresses and bed linens. A luxurious Italian-styled bathroom complete with large bath, overhead rain shower and bidet, is the focal point of the second floor accommodation sat between the two bedrooms. Ideal for families, Sorgente Holiday Cottage also appeals to couples for breaks throughout the year. There is on-road parking for one car and space for surfboards, wetsuits and bicycles in the garden area.
Filtered fresh air
The heat recovery system helps to meet targets of low energy consumption but also importantly keeps the home fresh and dry removing condensation and dust, ideal for those whose may have an allergy such as asthma or hay fever. It also helps prevent steamy mirrors in the bathroom. We are pleased that we are able to offer self catering accommodation more suited to asthma and allergy sufferers and therefore have a strict non-smoking, no pets policy. Sorgente does not 'suffer' from damp like so many traditional granite cottages in Cornwall, this is thanks to the heat recovery system, it is therefore not necessary to 'ventilate' the house by leaving windows open and thereby losing heat.
An excellent touring base
Secluded beaches and quaint fishing villages of the Roseland Peninsula, the Lizard Peninsula and the renowned Eden Project are within easy reach.
