A cottage wouldn’t be complete without a garden and ours can be a real sun trap. Overlooked by the double bedroom, the cottage garden is easily accessible from the kitchen using the large sliding patio door.
It has been redesigned and rebuilt using traditional Cornish hedging as the boundary walls. These are similar to dry stone walls because they use no mortar in their construction, although Cornish walls make use of the soil knitted together by the roots of wild plants and flowers. In our cottage garden walls you will find many wild flowers and herbs, also useful in the Kitchen.
The cottage garden is on two levels and we advise that children should be supervised especially on the upper level. The lower part, paved in black limestone, is an ideal spot for breakfast or afternoon tea or hanging out any washing or even perhaps your wet suits. You will find a storage box for the folded garden furniture.
A BBQ space has been built into the wall, this may be used for your own portable/disposable charcoal barbecues.
