Praa Sands (beach)

PRAA SANDS (beach) 17 miles/30 mins. (Bus, Car, Cycle)

West of Helston and Porthleven. The beach at Praa Sands has good surf and is very popular with surfers.
This beach is probably the only rock-free surf beach on the south coast of Cornwall. If the north wind blows, surfers can be found here even in the winter months.
There are tidal pools on each side of the beach, and depending on the shifting sands, important geological structures can be seen at each end of the beach along with rock pools. It is recognised as a Regionally Important Geological/Geomorphical Site.
